Path of Idle Class Tier List (August 2026)
Compare all six Path of Idle classes by launch-build role, team value, durability, damage profile, and how much testing each still needs.
What is the current Path of Idle class tier list?
The early August 2026 consensus favors Cleric and Warrior as the strongest team anchors, with Mage and Priest close behind. Hunter remains usable but narrower, while Mercenary needs more testing before a responsible rank can be assigned.
| Tier | Classes | Verified launch role |
|---|---|---|
| S | Cleric, Warrior | Sustain/support and durable melee/summons |
| A | Mage, Priest | Ranged area damage and flexible magical melee |
| B | Hunter | Direct ranged damage with fewer build directions |
| Unranked | Mercenary | Insufficient reliable launch testing |
Why is Cleric S tier?
Cleric earns its place through team value rather than solo damage. Independent launch coverage describes sustained healing and party-wide support that lets damage dealers survive harder stages. It is strongest when the rest of the line can convert that extra survival time into progress.
Why is Warrior S tier?
Warrior combines front-line durability, physical damage, and summon support. That flexibility makes it easier to build around than a fragile specialist. The Warrior build guide explains the launch setup currently backed by the clearest independent source.
Why are Mage and Priest A tier?
Mage supplies ranged elemental and area damage, especially useful when enemies cluster around a durable front line. Its weakness is health, so it needs protection. Priest offers flexible magical melee options and more complex build paths; that ceiling is promising, but the class demands more deliberate setup.
Why is Hunter B tier?
Hunter provides dependable ranged damage but has fewer confirmed build directions than Mage in current public testing. B tier does not mean unusable. It means the class is less broadly valuable when building a default team for unknown content.
Why is Mercenary unranked?
The official page confirms six classes but does not publish a balance ranking. Independent launch coverage explicitly treats Mercenary as insufficiently tested. Leaving it unranked is more accurate than filling the gap with invented certainty.
What is the safest starting core?
Start with Warrior for the front line, Cleric for sustain, and Mage for ranged area damage. This covers three different failure modes and gives clearer feedback when a stage stalls. See the party composition guide for adjustment rules.
Sources and verification
Six-class support is confirmed by the official Steam listing. Roles and the early tier signal were cross-checked against independent August 2026 class coverage. Unverified skill numbers are intentionally omitted.
